Stop and Think

With nothing to hold onto, the balcony
becomes a ledge that falls to nothing.
Are we afraid of nothing?
The blackness that is null
that sits in the back of our minds
reminding us of past
future, and present
trying to make us forget
the screams, murder and pain.

The looming melody commands you what to do—you are its slave. You are nothing but a ragdoll to the overbearing monster that controls you. The mass that pulls you down and helps you back up. If your master dies, so will you. That is a fact of life. So you live out its selfish commands while praising the ground it walks on. Afraid to lash out, afraid to draw back. Until the point where your body ceases function, you must tend to its every whim. Neither out-live the other, this is the struggle of body and mind.
